The Proposal

It all started when…

I followed an unconventional path towards the birth of P2U Jewelry. Until 2018, I was a jewelry designer and sales executive for a wholesale jewelry company in New York City. I loved designing but the corporate world lacked balance and was filled with daily stresses, extensive work hours and a less than ideal office culture. I craved something that would allow for creativity, connection and inner peace.

When I left my corporate career, I started a journey to learn and experience every dimension of holistic health and wellness, including yoga, mindfulness and meditation, and acupuncture to name a few. With each new door that I opened, I gained clarity that this was what I was meant to be doing. I took on various trainings, including a 200-hour yoga teacher training, an 8-week mindfulness-based stress reduction program at Yale University, and a 200-hour holistic health coach training. This culminated with the opening of my studio, Peace in Piermont, as a way to continuously offer a sacred space for learning, support and connection in the “here and now.”

Little did I realize that the journey had just begun. Over the years I had built a private jewelry design client base, and my passion for the work was ongoing. During an intense 10-day silent retreat where I faced my emotions and challenges head-on, I found a rock on the ground in the shape of a heart. Hearts have always been an important sign in my life. They are a visual reminder that I am aligned and on my path. I picked up the rock and noticed that one of the curves was bigger than the other, smiled, and acknowledged its meaning: we all give and receive love, but we need to first love ourselves more.

I believe love and connection are why we are here on earth. But without loving ourselves first, we are only attempting to pour from empty cups. We need to stop waiting for someone else to come along and “complete” us. We need to learn how to show up for ourselves, to commit to loving ourselves unconditionally. It was in this moment that Propose To Yourself (P2U) Jewelry was born.

P2U is not just for my single ladies. It’s not an effort to minimize or compete with an engagement or marriage to a romantic partner. The mission of P2U is to inspire a commitment to self-betterment, which in turn will strengthen bonds to those around you, and hopefully motivate them to follow suit. It’s a movement, a sisterhood. The collection includes 11 rings that have each been designed with heart and soul, with the intention of inspiring women to recognize their intention and see it through. The rings are symbols of deep commitment and unconditional love; of the unity you possess and the importance of working consistently to align your mind, body and soul. They serve as reminders that you are enough, always have been and always will be, and that you are capable of anything you set your mind to.
